INTERCULTURE II has just ended on a very positive note The intercultural exchange which took place from 12 to 21 September 2011 in Leysin and which gathered 36 young people from various countries of Europe ended on a very positive note. Young people’s view of the Other has changed significantly. The participants returned into their respective country with a strong desire to live and to share tolerance, respect, solidarity and dialogue in their communities.
The meeting is supported by the Youth in Action program of the Council of Europe, the Loterie Romande, the Migros Culture Percentage, the Municipality of Leysin and the Film-maker Fernand Melgar.
INTERCULTURE II aims to bring young Europeans to a deep reflection on Living together with minorities and to a clear conscious view of their own opinions on migrants. It is also aiming to boost the participant's interest in tolerance, respect, understanding, solidarity and to motivate them in living and sharing them with each other as well as to cultivate them within the European society.
It also wants to make the participants share their respective cultures in reflecting the similarities. The various intermittent activities during the event enabled to reach the objectives beyond expectations.
Looking forward to next year edition of ‘’INTERCULTURE III’’.
